Recently we're releasing an update for the latest Briker. Get it from our download page, http://www.briker.org/download. For those who already install Briker 1.0.4 we have prepared a patch to update your system to Briker 1.0.4.2.

Basically you need to get the update file from our download server,http://voiprakyat.or.id/pub/briker/patches/upgrade/, upload the update file (update-104-to-1042.bpz) to your Briker 1.0.4 server and issue below command from console:

briker-patch <update file name>

Once done and no error occured (errors will be printed and shown on console), that means you have successfully update your system, congrats!

Briker already installed in places geographically far from its support team homebase, Jakarta, Indonesia. This release marked the time for Briker to travel around countries.

Code name: Asia

The code name "Asia" came up on our mind after 1.0.4-rc3, right after our short trip to Malaysia and Singapore where we helped companies to use Briker as their phone system. On that trip, we received some email stating that in Sri Lanka, a company or two also used Briker as their phone system.

To help users getting started on the right track and fast, we provide manual for Briker IPPBX Administration in Bahasa and English, grab it from documentation page. Highlights:

• easy FAXing, receive FAX on Briker and forward them to email
• FAX over IP (FAX machines connected to IP network using ATA)
• receiving FAX also on T.38 capable softphone rather than email (Zoiper, Kapanga)
• added drivers for non-Digium cards
• added User Portal, extension owner can view calls, listen to voicemail on web, manage forwards or follow me

Code name "OWP" released with couple fixes and new features. No changes on core or other important modules.

Another workshop coming up, this time pretty big. Exhibits of RITECH 2008, among other, will be local FOSS communities. They will show their products and services related to FOSS. Briker IPPBX will be at the scene and the dev team will be giving workshop on VoIP distro.
